There have been rumors recently on social media of girls working from home in their underwear to cover their bills, and to some extent it amounts to a lot more. Of course, with the cat out of the bag, there are plenty of girls who sign up on this site to make some extra cash. The downfall is that many of these girls start modeling online with high hopes and quickly find out that it’s not easy money.

The key to survival in this thriving jungle is to be prepared before you even enter. This is some of the best advice I can give anyone who wants to do what I do for a living. Throw away everything you’ve ever heard about modeling online. Every girl is different, and each will be as successful as they make themselves. How do you make yourself successful? Work, and more. You have to treat it like a business if you want to pay like that. Be professional. Showing weakness, and online naivety is like calling all the wolves out. What I’m saying is, it’s counter productive for your financial well-being to be stupid in this game.

Every girl gets a fair chance. You can give yourself a leg up, if you know what you’re doing.

Learn what you need to learn to prepare yourself to entertain and entertain hundreds, or thousands of followers, before you get started.

Before you start, you will want to create your alter ego. Your alter ego is the person you actually send to that virtual stage. Choose your alter ego and niche wisely. It’s hard to change your brand image once you’ve released it.

Once you’ve released your drawings, you still have a lot to learn and prepare. Of course, you have to decide exactly what you are going to offer. Then you have to find a place to market yourself. The online industry has grown to the point where you have to build your fan base one by one. You must earn respect, trust, and be able to maintain dignity even if despair knocks at your door. Most customers expect to get what they pay for. This means that you must produce quality media, and provide useful interactions. You will tip your regular waiter more than the new waiter. The same concept works here.

Don’t quit your job just because you’ve started working on camera guide, or have taken some photos. It will take some time before you make enough money to pay your rent and all the extras. You will definitely need that regular salary at first. Being an online companion is hard work, and often exhausting. There are good times and there are bad times. The secret to long-lasting longevity is to stay on top of your own production, and set up a reliable backup plan for yourself.

Don’t depend on the site to pay you on time. This sounds counterintuitive, but it’s true. Things come up often, at the most inconvenient times. When it comes to websites, it pays to know who you are working for. Trust is a two way street. Make it your business to find out what your storage percentage rate really is, and know when your payday is. Make sure to set up a system that you trust. Read every word of each appropriate FAQ and pay close attention to the TOU to make sure you match the site you’re evaluating. Compare your sites before you go around uploading videos in places that don’t sell them. Make sure what you are offering is what the site is promoting. Read on review sites about your prospects. For example,

Don’t sell yourself short.

No matter how much the site is promoting you, (Sometimes as a new girl, you are heavily promoted!) you still need to promote yourself. Develop your social network aggressively, and display an image of quality, and consistency.

A word of wisdom about going Indie.

Are you sure you can go through the independent path right? You could be an indie provider, and build your own site, or better yet… Email photos or videos, and Skype for PayPal camshows? Wrong! You cannot use PayPal for adult material. Don’t do anything in the adult industry with PayPal… It’s dangerous. I can’t stress how dangerous it is, but it’s still widely accepted by many major webcam sites. Your number one priority is protecting your time investment, and your content. Don’t let PayPal freeze your funds because you want to take the easy way out. (It happened to me!) Create your own site from scratch, or choose a pre-existing platform that uses a payment service you trust. You have the right to do that,

So far I’ve covered how to choose a place to set up shop, but I haven’t touched on what it takes to get started. Nothing is free, and starting a business or self-employed requires investment from you. You have to know what you need. You need to know how much it costs to get the basics. You need to know how to use your equipment. By equipment I mean your laptop, camera, camera and software to keep it pretty basic. Of course you can always go cheap, just make sure to get the best you can for what you have. I highly recommend continuing to reinvest in your business if you want to improve it. Take the time and money, and it will pay off.

Make sure you know what you’re doing when you jump into online modeling. Know what you want and know how you will get it. Don’t enter the pool until you know how to swim.

Are there any points I missed? I want to hear what you think is important for new girls in the industry to know.
